National flights
1. American Airlines adds new flights from DFW Airport to Mississippi
Golden Triangle Regional Airport in Columbus, Mississippi, released a statement Jan. 21 that American Airlines will start flights to and from the airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on May 5.
According to a news release, flights will happen once a day aboard a Bombardier CRJ-700 jet.
2. Avelo Airlines to add flights from DFW Airport to Connecticut
Avelo Airlines announced Dec. 9, 2024, that it would add a new route between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Tweed New Haven Airport in Connecticut.
Avelo added four nonstop services in February and will have its first flight to DFW Airport on March 7, flying on Mondays and Fridays, according to a news release.
The flight to Tweed New Haven Airport, which is 3 hours, 24 minutes, starts at $89, according to the website.
3. Frontier Airlines adds 3 destinations out of DFW Airport
Starting April 22, Frontier will fly from DFW Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. The four-times weekly flights will make trips in each direction on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, according to a news release.
Starting on May 22, Frontier will start daily flights to Washington Dulles International Airport and twice a week to Norfolk International Airport in Norfolk, Virginia. Introductory prices for each trip is $29, per the release.
International flights
1. Taiwanese airline EVA Air to bring flights to DFW Airport
Taiwanese international airline EVA Air announced in a news release it will add nonstop flights to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in 2025.
EVA Air General Manager Sun Jiaming said a 7,718-mile flight will operate five times a week from DFW Airport to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport starting Nov. 3. The airline did not announce what terminal the flights will be departing from at the airport.
2. American Airlines to add non-stop flight to Italy out of DFW Airport
A route to Venice, Italy, is a new destination for American Airlines, which is based in Fort Worth. Service in a Boeing 787-8 will start daily June 5, according to a social media post from Nov. 1, 2024.
Tickets for the flights, which will land at Venice Marco Polo Airport, went on sale Nov. 4, 2024, according to DFW Airport officials. Per American Airlines's website, the non-stop flight is 10 hours and 35 minutes.
3. American Airlines to add flights to Asia, Spain and Mexico
On March 5, American Airlines will add a flight to Gen. Francisco Javier Mina International Airport in Tampico, Mexico, from DFW Airport, according to a news release.
American will add three daily flights to Asia starting in the summer of 2025, but the exact dates have not been announced, per the news release.
There will be two flights to Tokyo—Tokyo International Airport and Narita International Airport. An additional flight will be added to Shanghai Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, China.
American Airlines will start daily service to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Barcelona, which starts March 30.
4. Air India now offers flights with connections to DFW 7 days a week
Air India added a new flight route to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in the beginning of January.
According to its website, the first flight to Texas from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India was Jan. 7 and landed in Dallas Jan. 8 after a 28-hour, 35-minute flight. The flight left New Delhi and had a connecting flight in Mumbai, India.
Air India flies into either Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, or John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York. The flight to Dallas will either be on Delta Air Lines or United Airlines.
5. Qantas announces 2 changes to flights from DFW Airport to Australia
Qantas announced Oct. 23, 2024, that its airfare services will increase from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in 2025.
The Mascot, New South Wales, Australia-based airline will have its Airbus A380 service return to Sydney, Australia for the first time in five years. Flights to Sydney Airport will start Aug. 11.
In addition, Qantas increased flights from DFW Airport to Melbourne Airport from three times a week to four times a week starting Feb. 6, according to a news release.
6. Mexican airline Viva Aerobus adds new flights out of DFW Airport
Viva Aerobus will add a new route to Santiago de Querétaro on April 2, according to a news release. Per the company website, flights to Querétaro International Airport in Santiago de Querétaro will start at $97 each way.
The flights will take place Tuesdays and Sundays on Viva Aerobus' Airbus A320 jets, according to the release.
