In May, the first phase of the North White Chapel widening project got underway, according to a Southlake news release. The work is expected to last through June, weather permitting.

What’s happening

Crews will work to widen the road between the SH 114 frontage road and East Kirkwood Boulevard due to the projected traffic volume from the Carillon Parc development.

According to the release, this project is taking place south of other work taking place on North White Chapel related to the Kirkwood Branch Bridge replacement. This project will not impact detours related to that project, the release stated.

The backstory

A portion of North White Chapel will be widened as part of the Carillon Parc project in Southlake. Carillon Parc is a 42.5-acre European-style mixed-use development in Southlake at the northeast corner of SH 114 and White Chapel Boulevard next to the Carillon neighborhood. The entire project must be finished by March 31, 2027, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
