The Carroll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved Brian Nickel as the new assistant superintendent of administration for the 2024-25 school year.

The backstory

A district Facebook post states that for the past school year, Nickel served CISD as the director of safety and student services. His prior experience in education includes:
  • Principal at Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, Texas
  • Assistant principal at Wylie High School in Wylie, Texas
  • Science teacher at Burnett Junior High in Wylie, Texas

“We are happy to announce Brian Nickel as the assistant superintendent of administration,” Superintendent Lane Ledbetter said. “He has a varied and extensive background in public education including unique leadership abilities that have and will continue to serve us well at CISD.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as assistant superintendent for Carroll ISD,” Nickel said. “I look forward to working with our amazing leaders as we support the students, staff, and community of Carroll ISD.”


The Facebook post states Nickel received his master of education degree in 2007 from Dallas Baptist University and will be completing his superintendent certification this fall.
