Residents in Celina ISD will see a slightly lower property tax rate for fiscal year 2026-27.
The CISD Board approved a property tax rate of $1.2088 per $100 of property valuation at an Aug. 31 meeting.
The rate is a decrease from the FY 2025-26 property tax rate of $1.2089 per $100 of valuation.
The local impact
CISD’s decision to lower the tax rate isn’t the only factor driving down property tax bills.
The average value of a home in CISD decreased compared to last year, according to certified totals from Collin and Denton counties.
Based on the FY 2026-27 property tax rate and the average taxable homestead value, the average Collin County CISD resident’s tax bill from the district will decrease by $272.97, and the average Denton County CISD resident’s tax bill will decrease by $793.39.
