Family serves award-winning tamales six days a week at Tommy Tamale in Keller

In 2010, Steve Barker needed a job, so he started selling tamales out of his truck in Decatur. He said he went from business to business asking people to buy his tamales. They were selling. He said he soon realized he needed a business name.


“I knew ‘Steve Tamale’ wouldn’t have the right ring ... so I came up with Tommy Tamale,” Barker said.

Fresh Mex food truck coasts into new normal in McKinney

McKinney residents Mark and Jessica Thibodeaux started their Fresh Mex business in July 2019 but said it was not until recently that they felt like they were reaching a normal workload.

The 16,000-square-foot facility will be home to the brewery as well as a restaurant, bakery and butcher shop. In addition, a large 14,000-square-foot outdoor entertainment patio will host events and live music.
