Ben Bryner is the new Colleyville Community Development Director.[/caption]

Ben Bryner, who has more than 15 years of municipal planning experience in Texas, joined the city of Colleyville as community development director July 18.

Bryner joins Colleyville from the city of Abilene, where he served as development services manager. His responsibilities included managing a staff that oversaw all aspects of the city’s development, including zoning, site planning and long range planning for a city of more than 120,373 people. Prior to his time in Abilene, he worked as a planner and then senior planner for the city of Southlake.

The Community Development Department provides a service to the public by helping ensure that new construction and new businesses are in compliance with city zoning and development ordinances and that land within the city is platted in accordance with the city’s ordinances. Also, it is through this department that ordinances are updated periodically and assistance with zoning or other development questions is provided.
