Tommy’s Express Car Wash will be coming to Southlake.

During a meeting on April 16, the Southlake City Council approved a zoning change and site plan for the company.

Zoning was originally for a retail building but the change was approved for a self-service automated car wash. The company offers unlimited wash membership and pay-per-wash options, according to the website. There will be a special lane dedicated to members, according to the presentation.

The location is near the city-limit border between Southlake and Keller. One of the variances approved was a 17-foot buffer from Southlake Boulevard, a change from the 20-foot requirement by code, according to Denis Killlough, Southlake's director of planning and development services.

Mike Roseberry, one of the co-owners of the car wash, said they also own a similar location in Dallas.

“Some people just want a really quick wash,” he said. “They want a two-minute wash so they can get in before work or after work or before they drop the kids off at school or afterwards. It's a two-minute wash, and it does a fantastic job. It's by far the best express car wash in the market.”

He said about 50,000 cars pass the proposed location daily. There was no timetable given for the car wash construction to start.
