A special-use permit was passed to allow for a dog grooming business near Walmart Neighborhood Market by the Colleyville City Council during the April 16 meeting.

Scenthound will provide dog grooming and dog wellness, according to local franchise owner Sam Beckman, a Keller resident.

He said most services will be 30 minutes, and owners will be contacted within 10 minutes of the end of the appointment for pickup. There will be no vacation boarding, overnight boarding or vet services, he said. Beckman said the general wellness for pets includes teeth brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning and skin treatment.

The company will add soundproofing and ventilation during the renovation process, according to city documents.

Beckman said he owns a similar location in Southlake. He said after a contractor is selected, it would take between 10 and 12 weeks for the store to be ready.
