Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Centennial in Frisco has received a national accolade for cardiac care.

The facility earned the advanced Primary Heart Attack Designation from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association, according to a news release. The designation serves as a mark of excellence for “exceptional cardiac care to the communities,” BSW-Centennial said.

“Our team’s commitment to quality outcomes, EMS collaboration, and cardiovascular program development has led the hospital in being able to offer advanced cardiac care services,” said Ryan Gebhart, SVP, president of BSW-Centennial, in the release.

BSW-Centennial said it offers expanded cardiovascular services in coordination with Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital-Plano.

The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 22,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, the release said. The commission evaluates health care organizations according to safe and effective care practices, according to BSW-Centennial.
