A winter storm warning is in effect for Collin and Denton counties. A mixed precipitation of cold rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to begin Thursday morning and continue through Friday morning. Road conditions are expected to develop Thursday morning before worsening midday Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Looking ahead
A decision for closing schools Jan. 10 has not yet been made. District officials will continue to evaluate weather conditions and a decision will be communicated no later than 3 p.m. on Jan. 9.
The district will not need to utilize a bad weather make-up day for the Jan. 9 closure.
