Mero Mero offers modern Tex-Mex cuisine in Frisco
Mero Mero, a modern Tex-Mex restaurant, opened at the corner of Dallas North Tollway and Main Street in Frisco.
The 4,568-square-foot restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating options, a bar stocked with more than 50 liquor and spirit brands and a menu featuring house-made tortillas, fajitas, fresh salsas, ribeye tacos, enchiladas, chips and drinks.
ChaHalo offers Chinese milk, fruit tea in Plano
A new milk tea business founded in China has opened its first Dallas-Fort Worth location in Plano.
The business offers both milk and fruit tea on its menu. Some of its flavors include roasted oolong milk tea, jasmine lemon green tea and its black milk tea frappe.
The business started in Xi'an, China, in 2016 and opened its first international location in Canada. Its first US location opened in 2025. ChaHalo currently has two locations in Texas, with its Houston location opening in July.

Kami Sushi Seafood Buffet is now open in Richardson.
The restaurant offers hibachi, hot pot, sushi, lobster and a variety of other foods and desserts available buffet-style.
Mexican Oak in Denton adds tequila lounge
The Mexican Oak has expanded to open a new tequila lounge.
The Mexican Oak Tequila Lounge celebrated its grand opening Sept. 11 at its location on the Denton Square. The lounge sits on the second floor of the restaurant and only serves tequila. A variety of cocktails are available with the tequila.
In addition to drinks, the lounge has small-bite fare available, such as shrimp, flautas and chimichangas.
The lounge is open Thursday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Mexican Oak offers a variety of tacos and classic Mexican dishes, such as enchiladas, chili relleno and fajitas, as well as desserts such as churros and sopapillas.

Cava looks to serve Mediterranean fares in Prosper
Cava is expected to open a location at The Gates of Prosper, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The project is a renovation of space for an estimated $800,000 early next year before the restaurant opens in the location, according to the filing.
Cava serves Mediterranean bowls, salads and pitas. This would be the town's first Cava location.
Potbelly plans sandwich shop on Preston Road in Celina
Potbelly has leased space for a sandwich shop in Celina, a company representative confirmed.
The fast-casual chain offers sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads, according to the company's website.
Potbelly's planned Celina location will be on Preston Road north of Ownsby Parkway and is expected to open in summer 2027, the representative said.
The location is one of several planned for the Dallas area, the representative said in an email statement.
“North Texas remains an important part of Potbelly’s broader growth strategy,” the statement said.
