A total of 18 Frisco mosquito pools have tested positive for the virus this year, and two human cases have been confirmed in the city.
Spraying will begin Saturday in an area west of B.F. Phillips Community Park and east of FM 423.
Treatment will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday and will continue through 6 a.m. Sunday. Spraying resumes Sunday at 9 p.m. and continues through 6 a.m. Monday.
The city of Frisco supports precautionary steps promoted by the Texas Department of State Health Services, which are commonly referred to as “The Four D’s”:
- drain all standing water;
- dress in light-colored, long-sleeved clothing when outdoors;
- DEET—use mosquito repellents that contain diethylmetatoluamide, or DEET; and
- dusk or dawn—avoid outdoor activities during these hours when mosquitoes are most active.
