The city of Frisco provides holiday tree recycling and curbside pickup for residents. Here are seven things to know about recycling holiday trees.
- All trees will be recycled and either turned into mulch or compost.
- Trees taller than 5 feet should be cut into sections no longer than 4 feet or 60 pounds each.
- Trees should not be placed in a plastic bag.
- For curbside pickup, trees should be placed at the edge of the property on a resident's scheduled trash and recycle day.
- Trees should be placed 3 feet away from trash and recycle carts.
- All supports and decorations should be removed from the tree before being placed outside for recycling.
- Flocked trees—which are sprayed with a chemical that looks like snow—will not be recycled.
