The city of Frisco provides holiday tree recycling and curbside pickup for residents. Here are seven things to know about recycling holiday trees.
  1. All trees will be recycled and either turned into mulch or compost.
  2. Trees taller than 5 feet should be cut into sections no longer than 4 feet or 60 pounds each.
  3. Trees should not be placed in a plastic bag.
  4. For curbside pickup, trees should be placed at the edge of the property on a resident's scheduled trash and recycle day.
  5. Trees should be placed 3 feet away from trash and recycle carts.
  6. All supports and decorations should be removed from the tree before being placed outside for recycling.
  7. Flocked trees—which are sprayed with a chemical that looks like snow—will not be recycled.
