The state of Texas has awarded Frisco ISD the highest possible designation for its financial transparency, according to district officials.

The district received a Gold Leadership Circle Award from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

The program recognizes local governments that meet a high standard for online transparency.

Transparency goals include opening books to the public, providing a clear and consistent picture of spending and sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers find details.

It spotlights local governments that are:
