Eastbound and westbound lanes on US 380 in Denton County will be shifted starting April 22, according to a traffic advisory notice from the Texas Department of Transportation.

What you need to know

Eastbound drivers on US 380 will shift south onto new pavement between FM 720 and Samsonite Road. Westbound drivers will also shift south between Magnolia Boulevard and FM 2931.

The configuration shift is scheduled from 7 p.m. April 22 to 6 a.m. April 29 for continued traffic barrier work at the intersection of US 380 and FM 2931.

During the shift, FM 2931 will narrow to a right-turn-only lane at the intersection with US 380. Eastbound US 380 will have no left turn lane onto northbound FM 2931.

The advisory states that caution should be used as drivers adjust to the new configuration.

Crews from Zachry Construction Corporation are completing traffic barrier work as part of a $135.9 million improvement project on US 380. TxDOT previously released a traffic notice that the highway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction every night through April 20.

The improvement project plans to widen US 380 from four to six lanes, improve sidewalks and install lighting. Construction is slated to finish by spring 2026.
