Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission members unanimously recommended City Council approve replatting the Frisco Police Department’s headquarters site during an April 23 meeting.

The breakdown

The headquarters, which sits on roughly 14 acres the northwest corner of Parkwood Boulevard and Stonebrook Parkway, consists of two auxiliary buildings and a communications tower.

Replatting the site will combine the site’s existing two lots into one and dedicate easements necessary for development, according to meeting documents. Future planned development for the site includes building a parking garage, commission Chair Jon Kendall said.

“This is currently where our police department sits and I believe where they’re trying to build a parking structure for our police vehicles to avoid hail and other weather damages,” he said.

What comes next?

Frisco City Council members are expected to discuss the commission’s recommendation during a future meeting. Council meeting dates and agendas can be found here.
