Tex-Mex restaurant Uncle Julio's is gearing up for a long-awaited grand opening April 24.

“We've been obviously building this restaurant for the past several years and look forward to opening and being part of the community obviously,” General Manager Fernando Varela said.

The Frisco eatery is the eighth Uncle Julio’s location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Varela said. Uncle Julio’s is headquartered in Dallas and offers from-scratch meals, including fish tacos, vegetable fajitas, carne asada, honey chipotle salmon, quesadillas and more.

Margaritas and a chocolate pinata featuring a chocolate globe field with churros and berries are also on the menu, according to the Uncle Julio’s website.

Uncle Julio’s is currently serving meals to invited guests as part of a soft open as it prepares for the grand opening, Varela said. The restaurant expects to be a “patio destination” once its outdoor space opens in mid-May, he said.
