Frisco nets Whole Foods Market Thomas Land & Development has released the master plan for its 110-acre, mixed-use Wade Park development and in mid-February announced the first retail commitment to the project: Whole Foods Market.

The store is projected to open fall 2015, along with the first phase of the development.

The 45,000-square-foot grocery store will anchor the Forum at Wade Park, the retail center for the entire project. Whole Foods offers a selection of natural and organic products in a store developers promise will be "tailored to the community."

"We are pleased to announce Whole Foods Market as the first of many premier features planned for the new Wade Park," said Stan Thomas, president and founder of Thomas Land & Development. "We are creating an exceptional space and environment for people to live, work, shop and spend leisure time at one of North Texas' most in-demand locations."

The master plan outlines what is essentially a miniature community—retail space, office space, multifamily residential housing and single-family homes.

The 127 single-family homes will have luxury amenities and elite concierge services. Nearly 560,000 square feet of retail space includes a 40,000-square-foot theater. Office space includes towers and spaces above retail.

"The Wade Park project is already drawing unique, quality businesses such as Whole Foods and given the social feedback, our residents are responding with resounding applause," said Mayor Maher Maso. "Our city council and staff are eager to see what other destination businesses this quality, mixed-use development will attract. We look forward to the positive impact this project will have on future development along the Dallas North Tollway, not to mention the overall growth of our community."
