Slap Burger Bar near the University of North Texas permanently closed in mid-April, according to an announcement on the company website.
The announcement cited declining sales and rising costs as reasons for closing the business.
“Rising food, labor, and operating costs combined with lower sales volume has made it impossible to continue in a responsible way,” the announcement states.
The restaurant is the located on Avenue A near Fry Street, next door to cocktail bar The Hydeout and pizza shop Crooked Crust, which both shut their doors in February.
