1. Baskin-Robbins opens new location in Colleyville
Baskin-Robbins will celebrate the grand opening of its store in Colleyville Towne Square on July 18, an employee confirmed.
The new location opened at the beginning of July, but the ice cream shop will host a grand opening party with ice cream scoops for $1.50.
Established in 1945, Baskin-Robbins features 31 different ice cream flavors alongside a variety of cakes, pies, milkshakes, sundaes and beverages.

2. Soul food restaurant Trucker’s Cafe to reopen Richardson location
Trucker’s Cafe is set to reopen its Richardson location on Aug. 1, owner Paulette Johnson said.
Trucker’s Cafe is a soul food restaurant serving salads, burgers, fish, chicken, meatloaf and more. The restaurant, which first opened in Richardson in 2020, has been closed for a year due to a fire, Johnson said.
Johnson said the grand opening will offer a $6.99 special with meat and sides.

3. Maman Coffee, Bakery, Kitchen to offer pastries, sandwiches in Plano
A new bakery and kitchen, Maman, will be opening its third location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Plano.
Maman is a New York-based restaurant that offers breakfast and lunch options like overnight oats, omelette, salads, soups and sandwiches. Some of its drinks include seasonal lattes, tea, lemonade and fizz drinks. Maman also offers traditional coffee options like espresso shots, americanos and a cortado.
Maman will be located at the former Main Street Bistro and Bakery. Maman’s other two locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are in Dallas.
4. New McDonald's under construction on Loop 288 in Denton

A new McDonald’s is under construction near the intersection of Loop 288 and Hummingbird Lane in Denton near Health Services of North Texas. TDLR documents state the location was scheduled to complete construction in late April.
McDonald’s currently operates seven locations in Denton, according to the company website. The business offers fast food burgers, sandwiches, fries and ice cream.
The building will cover 4,421 square feet and cost $1.5 million to construct, per TDLR documents.
5. Red Pepper Wok Chinese Kitchen to bring Asian fusion to Keller
A new Asian fusion restaurant is coming to Keller.
Red Pepper Wok Chinese Kitchen has a "coming soon" sign above the door, and a company representative at the location said an opening date has not been set.
A social media post states the restaurant will bring a fresh, bold Chinese and Asian fusion to the Keller, Southlake and North Richland Hills areas.
The restaurant's Instagram page showcases a variety of entrees, such as chicken fried rice, orange chicken with fried rice, cashew chicken, General Tso’s chicken and beef and broccoli.
The eatery will be moving into the former Buffalo Wild Wings "Go" location, which closed last year, according to previous reporting.
