Editor's note: The address for The Patios at The Rail has been updated.

Nack Development broke ground Monday on The Tower at The Rail in old downtown Frisco, or The District.

“It was a lot of weight to do this for downtown so it’s almost a big relief, but at the same time it’s finally happening so it’s exciting,” Nack Development President Donny Churchman said. “My goal the whole time was how do I bring value, and these projects get to show that the value is coming.”

The development will be located at 8763 Seventh St. and will include eight luxury town houses with rooftop terraces overlooking neighboring restaurants and retail, including Boxcar House and Boxcar Bakery.

Nack Development has several projects planned for The Rail District. The Patios at The Rail was the first project to be announced, and it is expected to break ground this fall, Churchman said.

The Patios will be located at 7561 Main St. and will include retail, restaurants, office space, an event center, two rooftop patios and a park and a parking garage. Construction of this project will take about 12 months.

The Calaboose is an upscale residential community with 20 luxury town houses and office space and will break ground next year. Nack Development will also build a new theater, called Nack Theater, which will be home to the North Texas Performing Arts’ Frisco Youth Theatre. This is also expected to break ground this year.
