Early voting begins Oct. 19 for the upcoming Nov. 3 election, which will feature a number of city council and county races across Galveston County.
Here’s what voters need to know about the early voting period.
Two-minute impact
Early voting will run from Oct. 19-30 for the Nov. 3 election, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
The polls will be open during the following dates and times:
From Oct. 19-23, polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Oct. 24, locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On Oct. 25, locations will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
From Oct. 26-30, locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The specifics
Contested races in Galveston County include:
U.S. House District 14: Thurman Bill Bartie and Randy Weber
Texas Senate District 11: Dennis Paul and Shannon Dicely
Texas House District 24: Greg Bonnen and Frank Carr
League City races include:
Mayor: Incumbent Nick Long will face current council member Tom Crews.
