Incumbent Sean Saunders will face candidate Teresa Potter for League City City Council, Position 7.
League City council members are "at-large," meaning each member represents the entire city, not a specific precinct.
Council members and the mayor serve four-year terms and can run for re-election for another four-year term, according to the city's website. Council members may not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position, nor can anyone serve as mayor following two consecutive mayoral terms.

Why are you running for this position?
I am running for re-election because we have accomplished a lot, and I want to keep building on it. My focus is being a good steward of taxpayer dollars, supporting public safety, improving infrastructure and mobility, and continuing to move League City forward.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My priorities are fiscal responsibility, keeping taxes as low as possible, supporting police, fire and EMS, improving roads, drainage and mobility, and managing growth responsibly. League City will continue to grow, and we have to make sure our infrastructure and public safety resources keep up with that growth.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
One of our greatest challenges is managing growth while protecting the quality of life our residents expect. We have to plan ahead for roads, drainage, water and wastewater, and public safety so we are not constantly playing catch-up or leaving existing residents to carry the cost.
What should League City’s budget priorities be?
Our budget should prioritize public safety, roads, drainage, mobility, water and wastewater infrastructure, and maintaining the assets we already own. We have to continue being responsible with taxpayer dollars, eliminate unnecessary spending where we can, and continue working to keep the tax burden on our residents as low as possible.

Why are you running for this position?
I love my community and believe our residents deserve leadership that is prepared, inclusive and committed to bringing people together. I administer budgets, facilitate meetings and strategic planning, and contribute over 200 hours of annual volunteer service. I serve and lead with compassion and accountability.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
Communicating with residents about agenda items, policy changes and developments that could affect them ahead of the meetings and providing honest interpretations of votes and decisions after meetings. Connecting with residents by incorporating council into the established League City Listens interactive tool, allowing engagement in projects, plans and initiatives.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
There is a big disconnect between City Council and the community. Every council member serves at-large, so our commitment is to everyone. I would strengthen communication by making myself more visible and available, and staying connected to residents year-round throughout my term.
What should League City’s budget priorities be?
Finishing high-priority drainage projects and critical water capital improvement projects, diversifying revenue and maintaining lower taxes for residents. These priorities affect public safety, property protection, insurance costs and residents’ peace of mind. Investing now means protecting homes, strengthening infrastructure and building a more resilient League City for the future.
