League City is holding a special election for City Council, Position 3, which is currently held by council member Tom Crews.
Crews is running for mayor against Incumbent Nick Long.
Whoever is elected for Position 3 will serve the remainder of the two-year term, which ends in November 2028.

Why are you running for this position?
I’m running to continue my life of public service and give residents a strong voice at City Hall. As an everyday resident, husband, father and longtime public servant, I want to help keep League City safe, financially responsible, transparent and a community families are proud to call home.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My priorities are responsible spending, strong public safety, infrastructure that keeps pace with growth, improved traffic and drainage, and greater transparency. I will focus on maintaining essential city services while carefully examining major expenditures and debt to ensure taxpayers receive measurable value for their money.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
League City’s greatest challenge is managing continued growth without sacrificing infrastructure, mobility, public safety or affordability. I will advocate for long-term planning that connects development with roads, drainage, utilities and emergency services while ensuring growth contributes appropriately toward the infrastructure demands it creates.
What should League City’s budget priorities be?
League City should prioritize public safety, roads, drainage, utilities, infrastructure maintenance and essential services. Before adding debt or new spending, Council should evaluate necessity, long-term costs, available revenue and alternatives. Every taxpayer dollar should have a clear purpose, measurable benefit and transparent explanation to residents.

Why are you running for this position?
To refocus our politics on the everyday issues that matter to everyday people - whether that be drainage, traffic, development or protecting our civil liberties.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
To join the Gulf Coast Transit District and get the ball rolling on bringing public transit to League City, and to ensure we continue our development with a small-town, family values based future in mind.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
The greatest challenge for a city like ours on the coast will almost always be flooding and drainage. I will work with the experts in our city to ensure we are equipped to handle future flood events, and I will work with the Drainage District to effectively provide service to ...
What should League City’s budget priorities be?
Public works, particularly drainage, will almost always take the top spot of my budgetary priorities. Beyond that, we need to maintain a robust police force and ensure we are adequately supporting our first responders, keeping our city beautiful and improving walkability so folks can appreciate that beauty.

Why are you running for this position?
I’m running for City Council to bring proven leadership, fiscal responsibility, transparency and a commitment to keeping League City safe, strong and thriving. I have lived in League City since 2007 and it is important to me to be involved in the community in meaningful ways.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My top priorities would be supporting police, fire and EMS to make sure they have everything they need to continue to serve League City at the highest level possible, also maintaining focus on keeping our infrastructure growing with the population and not falling behind.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
Rapid growth is one of the biggest challenges League City is facing. We as a city can handle growth by improving roads and drainage, expanding water and wastewater systems, and making sure new developments help pay for the infrastructure they need.

League City’s budget priorities should continue to be public safety and infrastructure as these two categories will directly affect every citizen, every day.
