Check out eight upcoming road projects in Hays County Precinct 4, which includes Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Buda.

Dripping Springs southwest connection

Project: The county is designing a new four-lane divided roadway, to allow easier access to RM 12 and alternative access to Hwy. 290. The project will be 2.4 miles long and is currently in the design process.

Darden Hill/CR 162 Phase 2

Project: The county will construct a four-lane divided roadway spanning 1.7 miles from the Sawyer Ranch roundabout to RM 1826. The 2016 road bond funded the schematic design of this project.

Darden Hill Road extension


Project: The county is in the design process for an additional four-lane roadway of 1.7 miles along Darden Hill Road, which will extend to RM 150.

Fitzhugh Road/CR 101

Project: Hays County and Travis County are working together to provide the design and construction of safety improvements along Fitzhugh Road. The potential work could include adding drainage and shoulders along the existing road.

RM 12/RM 150 intersection safety improvements

Project: This project will construct a 0.4-mile roundabout at the intersection of RM 12 and RM 150. The property for the ride of way has already been acquired. The design was funded by the 2016 bond, and the county was recently awarded $3.84 million in Carbon Reduction Grant Funding from CAMPO, who will work as a regional partner on the project.

Sawyer Ranch Road pedestrian walkway

Project:
Hays County is working to construct 1.3 miles of shared-use path from Meadow Creek Drive to the Sawyer Ranch roundabout. This project will allow Dripping Springs ISD students to travel to and from the DSISD complex.

Sawyer Ranch Road


Project: The county is in the design process for a 3.2-mile-long, four-lane divided roadway from Hwy. 290 to Darden Hill Road to provide easier access to Hwy. 290.

Old San Antonio Road

Project: The city of Buda and Hays County are collaborating to begin the design process for roadway improvements to Old San Antonio Road, which runs for 0.9 miles from Main Street to the Travis County line.
