According to an order signed by Travis County Judge Sam Biscoe on June 18, commercial businesses in the county must require employees and visitors to wear face coverings while they are on the business's premises.

The new order—which goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. June 18 and will run through Aug. 15—specifically requires commercial entities that provide goods and services to the public to “develop and implement a health and safety policy related to COVID-19.” At a minimum, the policy must require face coverings on the premises and while performing business-related activities off-site when social distancing is not possible, according to the order.

Austin Public Health did not provide an update June 18 on coronavirus cases and deaths in Travis County due to maintenance to the county’s online dashboard. According to the website, new data will be available June 19.
