Hays County Commissioners Court on June 29 approved $624,250 in bond funds that will help build a skate park in Dripping Springs. Community group Dripping Springs Skatepark Inc. will construct and design the park, which will feature a 12,000-square-foot facility in Founders Memorial Park.
“It’s a great thing when we can provide additional places for physical activity for the youth of our town and for those visiting,” said Andrew Binz, Dripping Springs Parks and Community Services director, in a news release. “Our parks are known for their diversity of activity, and the skatepark is a wonderful new addition to all we have to offer.”
The skatepark was one of the recommended projects to be funded by the Hays County park bond. The bond proposal, approved two years ago, included 16 park projects throughout the county.
