VCA Animal Hospitals has opened a new facility in South Austin, according to a news release. VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care-South Austin offers same-day veterinary care for urgent needs, seven days per week year-round. The animal hospital also offers free, 24-hour teletriage, which directly connects a client to a team of on-call credentialed veterinarian technicians.Radfish

Daygos San Diego Taco Shop

The taco shop will relocate from the former Oskar Blues Brewery site at 10420 Metric Blvd., Ste. 150, to Nomadic Outpost at 3505 Country White Lane in Austin. Daygos San Diego Taco Shop is owned by veteran and local Dre Johnson. Johnson used to be a culinary specialist while in the Navy. The food truck will offer rolled tacos, burritos, street tacos and quesadillas. Johnson said Daygos will be bringing back breakfast at the Nomadic Outpost location.Goldfish Swim School South Austin

The swim school will offer indoor, year-round swim lessons to children 4 months to 12 years old with lifeguard-certified instructors. Goldfish Swim School also has open enrollment year-round and also offers free, open swims for members.Painted Tree Boutiques


The boutique is slated to open a location in Sunset Valley in spring, according to an Instagram post. Painted Tree Boutiques offers a wide variety of home decor and clothing from an assortment of vendors.Barbers Elite

The restaurant, locally owned by brothers Bryce and Dylan Gilmore, celebrated its 10th anniversary Dec. 10. The entertainment center will expand its offerings to include an IMAX theatre with laser and an arcade. According to a news release, this is the first EVO venue to add IMAX with laser, which increases image resolution. The IMAX auditorium also offers next-generation audio, which is 10 times the dynamic range of standard sound systems. The arcade features over 35 games, including Jurassic Park, See Ball, Kong VR and a Taj Mahal Claw Machine. The IMAX theatre officially opened Dec. 1.
