The Rotary Club of Round Rock will host its annual barbecue cook off and fundraiser, with competitions for best pork ribs, beef brisket and chicken. This year the event will also include steak, blood mary and margarita competitions. The event will also have live music, a silent auction, raffle and cash bar.

An event dedicated to Volkswagen vehicles will be held at the Brushy Creek Amphitheater in Hutto. The festival features group cruises, a car show, a twinkie-eating contest, swap meet and other activities. According to the organizer, it’s the largest VM car show in Texas, with over 300 classic Volkswagens in attendance.

The county fair will feature carnival rides, rodeo events, a petting zoo, pig races, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, live music and other entertainment. Attendees will find a beer and wine garden as well as a variety of food vendors. Families get in free on the first day of the fair.

The Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a day for adults 18 and older to climb limestone cliffs at Milton Reimers Ranch Park. The annual fun run to show appreciation for the military service members will be held at Lake Pflugerville. Organized by Evolution of Health, the group is also collecting toys for Toys for Tots and food for the Round Rock Area Serving Center.
