In October, Raising Cane’s celebrated a milestone by opening its 200th location in Texas, with the new Sunset Valley restaurant quickly becoming a local favorite. Located at 5601 Brodie Lane, the new spot aims to serve both loyal fans and newcomers, with a focus on community engagement, quality food and convenience.
The Sunset Valley restaurant leader Ryan McGregor said the choice of this specific area was strategic.
“Austin has had a lot of locations, but it’s been seven or eight years since we’ve opened a new one on the south side. We saw an opportunity to better serve customers who had to drive long distances to our other locations,” McGregor said. “A lot of our loyal customers were traveling 20 to 30 minutes or more, which shows just how far our fans will go for our craveable chicken, but our new location in Sunset Valley makes it easier for them to get their Cane’s fix.”
When it comes to the atmosphere of the Sunset Valley restaurant, McGregor described the space as beautiful, happy and convenient. He said that every detail—from the layout to the design—was carefully planned to create a welcoming environment for Caniacs both tried and new.
“We want the experience to feel as good as the food. Whether you're here to grab a quick meal or to enjoy a meal with friends or family, we want the environment to match our commitment to speed and quality," McGregor said.
What makes Raising Cane’s particularly appealing to Austin residents is its consistency and commitment to quality. Known for its simple yet delicious menu, which includes Chicken Fingers, fries, Texas toast and award-winning Cane’s sauce, the restaurant has earned a reputation for serving high-quality food quickly.
“We focus on what we do best—Chicken Fingers—and keeping our menu simple ensures that every item is prepared well, every time,” McGregor said. “By keeping things streamlined, we can maintain a high level of consistency and quality at every location. We don’t try to do too much; instead, we focus on perfecting what we’re known for.”
Raising Cane’s has also made a name for itself in the Austin area by being active in the community. From sponsoring local high school sports teams to partnering with nonprofits like the Special Olympics, the brand goes beyond just serving food.
“We’re always looking for ways to give back, whether it’s hosting fundraisers or partnering with local schools and organizations. If someone has an idea or needs support for a community cause, we’re always open to finding a way to say yes,” McGregor said. “People can visit our Cane’s community partnerships page on our website to learn more about how we partner with local groups and find opportunities to get involved.”
Looking ahead, McGregor shared that the company is focused on continuing to grow in the Austin area and expanding its reach in neighborhoods where customers are eager for a local Raising Cane’s.
"We love this city, and it’s exciting to be part of the vibrant communities here. Our goal is to open more locations to better serve our customers and keep our commitment to quality and community at the heart of everything we do," McGregor said.
With future plans to open more restaurants and increase its involvement in local causes, Raising Cane’s aims to be a continued fixture in Austin’s restaurant scene, providing both great food and meaningful community engagement.
