Z’Tejas announced plans in mid-April to open a third Austin location at 14900 Avery Ranch Blvd., Austin, in fall 2021. According to the restaurant, its new location will have approximately 3,800 square feet of interior dining space with a 2,000-square-foot patio.

Z'Tejas Chief Operating Officer Robby Nethercut recently told Community Impact Newspaper the restaurant group was eyeing a return to the Avery Ranch area.

“We’ve learned we need a smaller footprint with a big bar and a big patio. And we need to be ... where we can be the neighborhood restaurant,” Nethercut said in February. “Those are things, from a business standpoint, that we’ve learned over 2020.”

Z’Tejas previously had a dining room in the Avery Ranch area off West Parmer Lane but closed that location in late 2017. The restaurant group currently operates two other Z’Tejas kitchens in Austin: one in the Arboretum area and the other on West Sixth Street in downtown Austin. www.ztejas.com
