A shopping center at 7101 W. Hwy. 71 anchored by Auto Zone, Wells Fargo Bank and a Jim’s Restaurant location is in store for a face-lift.

Austin-based real estate development firm BBD Commercial took over the management of the shopping center in March, said vice presidents Bill Ott and Tim Jarvis, the leasing agents and property managers of the property.

“We think the design aesthetic is going to completely transform the center,” Ott said.

Construction is slated to begin in May at Oak Hill Plaza, which takes up 115,512 square feet of space near the Y at Oak Hill intersection where Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 71 converge. The plaza will soon have a remodeled façade, a newly resurfaced parking lot, new paint and a marquee restaurant end cap with a patio. About 36,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space in the shopping center is available.

“We definitely want to have two new restaurants in the center because we feel like that area is begging for additional restaurants,” Jarvis said.

Architects Noack-Little and the construction team of Engen Contracting will work on the project. Construction will be completed within about six months, Ott said.
