Another mosquito pool has tested positive for West Nile Virus in Frisco, city officials said.
The city of Frisco will apply larvicide and spray for mosquitos after receiving confirmation. This is the fifth pool to test positive for the virus this season. No human cases are confirmed in Frisco.
The targeted area includes off-road locations near Rolater Road, between Hillcrest Road and Coit Road.

This same area also produced a positive pool last week so the city’s third party contractor will fog for mosquitoes using a backpack unit, as well as treating with larvicide and conducting off-road spraying using an all-terrain vehicle, according to a press release.
“The thermal fogging penetrates foliage better than traditional spray–both on-road and off-road,” said Patrick Prather of Municipal Mosquito, the city’s third party contractor.
Spraying will begin Sept. 12 at 10 p.m. and will continue through 6 a.m. Sept. 13
Spraying will resume in the same general area on the evening of Sept. 13 at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sept. 14.
