People who purchase water from one of the Lower Colorado River Authority’s water customers—including the cities of Leander and Cedar Park—can take advantage of rebates on water conservation tools, according to a statement released by the LCRA on Sept. 20.
“With the rebates, we want to encourage home and business owners to incorporate new water-saving equipment and technology into their everyday lives,” said John Hofmann, LCRA executive vice president of water, in the authority’s statement.
WaterSmart rebates are available for both residential and business water users and can cover up to 50 percent of the cost of new equipment, according to the statement. The rebates apply to equipment such as pressure-reducing heads, nozzles, in-line regulators and valves, LCRA spokesperson Clara Tuma said.
Rebates can reach up to $600 in value for residential water customers and $1,500 for commercial, the statement said.
