April Fool’s Day on Saturday is no joke when it comes to activities in the Cedar Park and Leander area. Here are some events to get you out in the community this weekend and into next week:

April 1 Learn to Fish Day The family-friendly event hosted by Williamson County teaches how to catch and release a fish. Participants are guided through a series of learning stations focused on basic tackle, appropriate bait selection, knot tying, boat casting, conservation ethics and general outdoor and water safety. April 1 Health Fair. Samaritan Health Ministries, a charitable clinic in Cedar Park for patients without health insurance, is hosting a community health fair. April 1 2017 Cedar Fest BBQ Cook-off. Held in conjunction with the Heritage Festival, the annual event features cook offs for chicken, beef, brisket, pork and ribs. April 1 Leander Bullriding Shoot Out. April 7 Family Fun Festival. Hosted by the Wiley Parent Teacher Association, the event includes carnival and inflatable games, a barbecue food vendor, silent auction, community vendors, University of Texas football players and other special guests. 4-7:30 p.m. $1 (per ticket), $20 (per wristband).
