From a Labor Day sale in downtown Georgetown to a swim party for dogs to two golf tournaments, there's several community events to attend this August and September.

Groovy Georgetown Scavenger Hunt

Alley Kat Adventures, based in Austin, is hosting an indoor and outdoor scavenger hunt that takes players throughout Georgetown. Participants will have to complete challenges while walking or driving through this two-hour hunt, which is family- and pet-friendly. Communication is through WhatsApp, and guests can choose from two time slots.Williamson County 4-H Open House


At the come and go event, attendees can explore project and club booths hosted by 4-H, a youth development program associated with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Attendees are invited to shop stores in downtown Georgetown over Labor Day weekend as owners clear out their shops to make room for the next season. This event is hosted by the city of Georgetown.Austin-Leander Gun Show

American Gun Shows will host its first event at the Premier Athletic Complex in Leander. There will be a three-gun giveaway on the second day of the show.

6th Annual Georgetown Community and Veterans Job Fair


The city of Georgetown, in partnership with the Texas Veterans Commission and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, will host the event. The fair will include approximately 60 employers, with some conducting on-site interviews. Organizations attending include AirBorn Inc., Strategic Thermal Labs, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the city of Georgetown, EMD Electronics and The Wesleyan. The first hour of the event will be reserved for veterans, with doors opening to the general public at 10 a.m.Liberty Hill Open

The Liberty Hill Masonic Lodge #432 is hosting its first golf tournament. The event will take place at Delaware Springs Golf Course, and participants will compete in teams of four. The top three teams will receive prizes.

K-9 Kerplunk

Georgetown Parks and Recreation is hosting an end-of-summer pool party for dogs, with 100 dogs limited to two one-hour time slots. Preregistration is required for both Georgetown residents and nonresidents, and owners must show their dog’s proof of rabies vaccination to gain entry. The event will include live music from multiple bands, food and drink vendors, and arts and crafts sellers. Bats typically take flight between 7-8:45 p.m. Visitors can bring sealed water bottles, soft sided coolers with water only and chairs.

Georgetown Chamber Golf Tournament


This afternoon event encourages members of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce to make new business connections and will include contests and goody bags. Lunch is provided by El Hombre Tacos, and dinner is provided by H-E-B.
