The petition required 10,436 signatures for council to call the election. City secretary staff validated 10,455 of the 11,000 signatures acquired by the petition.

Georgetown residents and H-E-B representatives launched the petition June 7, which intends to apply a 2010 voter decision that allows the sale of alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages, within city limits to areas that have been annexed since then.
