With the addition of a new head chef, Eats on 8th has been implementing some new menu changes.

In August the restaurant brought in Isaac Conner, who previously served as the executive chef at
Z’Tejas in Austin for six years.

General Manager Angie Pearson said the restaurant kept a lot of old menu favorites, such as the red snapper, lobster mac and cheese, and chicken-friend steak, but has also added in new entrees, such as the Prickly Pear Pork Shank.

“We’ve been slowly rolling out menu changes; we started with a few and have been adding a few more here and there, and we’re changing with the seasons, too,” she said.

The restaurant now offers a stuffed pork tenderloin with
chorizo and goat cheese and a Creole chicken that Pearson said pairs well with the cold weather. She said other menu items could also be added to or taken off the menu as the seasons change.

The restaurant also added key lime pie and a brownie sundae to the rotating dessert specials.

Along with a new head chef, the restaurant also received its liquor license in August. Eats on 8th now offers a full bar with cocktails using fresh juices and house infusions.

Some popular drink items include the strawberry margarita, the Cucumber Cooler with cucumber-infused gin, a raspberry lemonade and a version of a Long Island iced tea called an Eats Iced Tea, Pearson said.

“We’ve had a lot of fun there,” she said.
