
1. Water main upgrades
In May, Austin Water completed its project to upgrade wastewater lines in the Barrington Oaks neighborhood to improve capacity. The work had affected Danwood Drive from Kapok Lane to Barrington Way and Barrington from Danwood to Pilgrims Place and included new paving.

2. MoPac frontage roads repaving
The Texas Department of Transportation began in May a project to resurface the MoPac frontage roads from Parmer Lane to Waters Park Road.

3. US 183 frontage road resurfacing
On May 9, TxDOT began resurfacing the frontage roads of US 183 from Anderson Mill Road to Spicewood Springs Road/McNeil Drive.

4. I-35 repaving
TxDOT will resurface the I-35 main lanes from Wells Branch Parkway to Rundberg Lane. The project will be bid upon in November.

5. I-35 improvements
On May 17, TxDOT closed the public input stage for roadwork aimed at increasing connectivity between I-35 and US 183. TxDOT is planning $203.6 million in improvements to I-35 between Rundberg Lane and Hwy. 290. The project would add three direct-connectors, or flyovers; improve the existing northbound I-35 flyover to northbound US 183; reconstruct the St. Johns Avenue bridge at I-35; construct intersection bypass lanes and U-turn bridges; build extended entrance and exit ramps; reconfigure and improve I-35 ramps and shoulders; and improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
