The Austin Film Festival will return for its first fully in-person event since 2019. The festival is an eight-day event that features the work of writers, filmmakers and artists who use “written and visual language to tell a story.” The main events for the festival will be held at the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown, 700 San Jacinto St., Austin, and The Stephen F. Austin Royal Sonesta, 701 Congress Ave., Austin. The festival runs from Oct. 27-Nov. 3. All event schedules will be released at the end of September.

The festival is currently conducting its Call for Volunteers Campaign, which is focused on recruiting volunteers for prefestival and festival activities. Volunteers will help with multiple departments, including registration, screenplay, hospitality and theater.

“Each year, the support, commitment and hard work of volunteers is what enables the festival to pursue its mission of celebrating the writer at the heart of the process of filmmaking, so we really appreciate the volunteers who sign up,” Volunteer Coordinator Naomi Meraz said.

Applications and additional information about applying to be a volunteer can be found at https://austinfilmfestival.com/about/get-involved/volunteer.
