Ongoing projects
1. Highway Safety Improvement Program updates
Project: Updates include modernized traffic signals, upgraded equipment, increased capacity and enhanced pedestrian features at multiple intersections in Allen.
Update: Striping is currently under way throughout the intersection at Bethany Drive and Century Parkway, Communications Manager Kristi Soto said. The signal pole arm is being installed on the last signal pole foundation for the intersection at Main Street and Greenville Avenue.
- Timeline: Construction expected to wrap up by summer 2026
- Cost: $5.8 million
- Funding sources: city of Allen, Texas Department of Transportation
2. Greengate neighborhood sidewalk repairs
Project: The Greengate neighborhood area and adjacent roadways, including parts of Allen Heights Drive, will see upgrades to pedestrian facilities. Repairs include addressing broken sidewalk ramps, alley approaches and sidewalk panels.
Update: Contractors are currently working along Edelweiss Drive, Allen Heights Drive, Malone Road and Story Park, Soto said. Work is scheduled to begin soon on Carnation Drive, Petunia Drive and Gardenia Drive.

- Cost: $2.16 million

3. 2026 Street and Alley Rehabilitation project
Project: The project consists of reconstruction of existing deteriorated street and alley pavement identified in a citywide pavement condition assessment survey completed in 2022.
Update: The contractor is working on completing pavement repairs at Heritage Parkway and Alma Drive, Soto said.
