Started in 1993, the nonprofit Friends of Texas Wildlife is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Education Coordinator Cathie Coudert said via email.
“It feels very satisfying to have been able to reach out to the community and provide vital help for the animals and to the community members that find them,” Coudert said. “As we look back over how we have grown, it would not have been possible without the wonderful support of the community.”
Coudert said the nonprofit has helped tens of thousands of animals over its 30 years.
“We rely on the generous contributions from the community to care for the thousands of animals we receive each year,” Coudert said. “We do not have the capacity to pick up animals; this is where the physical intake center is crucial. All of our rehabbers are volunteers.”
