Interfaith Community Clinic is marking 30 years of providing healthcare to uninsured people in Montgomery County this November.
The backstory
For 30 years, Interfaith Community Clinic has provided services, following Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum's vision to create a clinic where every neighbor could receive healthcare regardless of their ability to pay. It now sees nearly 6,000 patient visits each year, according to information from the clinic.
“Reaching 30 years is an incredible testament to the compassion and generosity of this community,” said Missy Herndon, president and CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic. “For three decades, our volunteers, medical professionals, donors and community partners have come together to ensure our neighbors have access to the care they need. We are incredibly grateful for all those who have been part of this journey and look forward to carrying this mission forward for generations to come.”
Originally founded as South County Community Clinic, it is a project of Interfaith of The Woodlands, according to the clinic website. Interfaith of The Woodlands marked 50 years in the community in 2023, before the official 50th anniversary of The Woodlands community.
What it offers
In addition to medical and behavioral health services, the clinic connects patients to screenings through partnerships with local hospitals. These include services such as:
Comprehensive medical checkups
Assistance with managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure
Essential preventive care for women, such as well-woman exams and referrals for screenings and mammograms
Lab and diagnostic services

Beyond the main clinic, it has an additional location in Cut and Shoot. A partnership with Compassion United that started earlier this year also provides care to individuals experiencing homelessness at the Miracle City Campus.
