Magnolia Education Foundation awards over $73K in classroom grants

The Magnolia Education Foundation awarded over $73,000 in classroom grants, according to a Jan. 31 news release.

In a nutshell

The MEF awarded 20 grants totaling over $73,000 to 49 teachers at 12 campuses, according to the news release. The grants will fund projects, such as:

• An algebra escape room
• An augmented reality topography sandbox
• An edible ink printer

Grants were awarded based on the project, its impact on student learning, its implementation of the grant and whether the grant provides an “inventive approach that leads with a creative and innovative idea,” according to the news release.

What else?

This year’s grant funding was more than last year, when 13 grants totaling $63,000 were awarded to classrooms, Community Impact previously reported.

"By awarding grants, we are able to recognize and celebrate the dedication and creativity of teachers, and their commitment to enriching education in Magnolia ISD," MEF President Tina Slansky said via news release.
