An expansion project has started at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest to meet the needs of its growing community, hospital officials announced in an Aug. 14 news release. The project includes expansions to the hospital's women’s services, operating rooms and parking.
The specifics
The hospital’s women’s services expansion project is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will include:
- An expanded neonatal intensive care unit with nine rooms consisting of 24 beds, 15 bays and an isolation room
- An expanded labor and delivery unit with four new rooms with Americans With Disabilities Act-accessible options as well as corridor renovations for the labor and delivery hall
- An expanded cesarean section area with expanded waiting room, recovery bays, nurse station and additional facilities
- An expanded well-baby nursery with 15 bassinets and a renovation of the continuing care nursery
