Salute Liquor Owner Jacqueline Anthony said she wanted to open her own liquor store to connect with other people in her community. She said she decided to start her business in Round Rock because of its deep roots, small town vibe and the growth in the area.

“This was always in the back of my mind,” Anthony said. “I wanted to get into business and give back to the community.”

The woman-owned business, which is located at 105 E. Old Settlers Blvd., celebrated its grand opening on April 9 with a ribbon cutting from the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. Anthony served tacos along with wine and tequila tastings.

Anthony said the turnout and support was amazing. Two of the city councilmen came to provide their encouragement and appreciation for choosing to have her business in Round Rock.

The store offers a premium selection of spirits, wine, beer, tobacco, e-cigarettes, and CBD products, including weekly tasting events.

Not only does Salute Liquor have an outstanding selection of spirits, but the location is easily accessible and it offers an excellent customer experience.

Individuals can purchase their order on the store’s e-commerce site, and Salute Liquor will deliver it directly to the customer by store employee, Uber Eats, or another delivery service. The ability to deliver directly to customers makes Salute Liquor stand out and offers convenience to customers.

Anthony said what makes her store unique is her knowledgeable staff and her commitment to the community.

“Our employees are very social,” Anthony said. “You get to meet and mingle with people. We carry the best spirits to celebrate all of their special events.”

She said if a customer comes to Salute Liquor looking for a specific brand of liquor the store doesn’t carry, she will order it and have it in stock the next time the customer visits. The day of the grand opening, she had several of the guests ask for a particular whiskey. The very next day, she ordered it and sent out a Facebook post to let everyone know. Anthony said the customers were thrilled and came right in, and they could not believe the service and pricing she offered.

Cocktails can be an important part of social gatherings, and the Salute Liquor staff are more than willing to help guide customers and help them pick the perfect drink for any occasion. Whether an individual needs recommendations for food pairings, drink recipes, or wants to learn more about the history behind their favorite beverage, the Salute Liquor staff is available to help.

“We are very welcoming,” Anthony said. “We are friendly and knowledgeable at the same time.”

Anthony also supports her customers by offering competitive prices and not necessarily recommending the most expensive liquors.

“My prices are all geared toward the consumer’s wallet,” Anthony said.

Anthony said she wants to give back to the Round Rock community through her hero program, which offers discounts for first responders, veterans and teachers.

“Veterans, uniformed men and women, nurses and teachers suffered a lot during COVID-19,” Anthony said. “A lot of pressure and stress are on them.

Salute Liquor sets itself apart by offering tastings and special events. In its first month of operation, the store has hosted a Deep Eddy Vodka tasting, a Larceny small batch bourbon tasting, and a Wild Turkey Longbranch bourbon tasting.

Although there are many liquor stores an individual could shop at in Round Rock, Salute Liquor provides a unique experience and an inviting atmosphere.

“I'm in your neighborhood with good prices and tastings every weekend,” Anthony said. “If I don't have it, I'll try my best to get it for you.”

Salute Liquor is open Mon. - Sat. from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and closed on Sunday.
