The Universal City Police Department, Fire Department and Universal City Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association are hosting a Hero Camp from June 6-10.

This is the first year the event will be held, as kids aged 12-14 will have the opportunity to learn about first responders and their jobs.

Children that attend will try on gear, climb towers, learn first aid and participate in other activities.

The camp is free, but space is limited with a few slots available. Camp will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, and lunch will be provided.

The final day of camp will be a family day where cadets will show what they have learned during the week. For more information, email Christina Fitzpatrick at [email protected].
