Guadalupe County has released early voting totals for the Cibolo mayoral race.
What you need to know
Kara Latimer and Terry Hinze are vying for the Cibolo mayoral seat in the Nov. 4 election.
Latimer leads with 1,565 votes, or 57.08% of the vote. Hinze has received 1,177 votes, or 42.92% of the vote, according to early voting election results.
The winning candidate will replace Mark Allen, who was elected in November 2022 after serving as the District 5 City Council member, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
Latimer and Hinze ran for mayor in November 2022. Latimer received 1,523 of 9,069 possible votes, or 16.79%, while Hinze received 1,033 votes, or 11.39%, according to official election results from Guadalupe County.
What else?
In early voting, there were 2,710 ballots cast countywide, according to unofficial Guadalupe County election results.
Totals from ballots cast Nov. 4 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
