From parades and live music to fireworks, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day in the San Antonio area. This list is not comprehensive.

Shavano Park's Picnic in the Park

The city of Shavano Park will hold its annual Independence Day celebration at the City Hall campus. The family friendly event begins with a mini-parade around the City Hall parking lot, followed by music, food, patriotic baking and bicycle decorating contests, a petting zoo, pony rides, water park activities and more. Residents may bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, bathing suits, towels and water shoes.Celebrate Independence Day at Cornerstone Church

Cornerstone Church will host its annual Independence Day event with cornhole, volleyball, basketball, water games and other activities for the whole family. There will also be refreshments, a concert with contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns, and a fireworks show to end the evening.Hollywood Park's Parade and Picnic

Hollywood Park residents will be invited to take part in the town’s annual Fourth of July event, which will kick off with a parade starting at City Hall. The parade will end at Voigt Park, where attendees may enjoy food, and visiting the park swimming pool and splashpad.


San Antonio's Fourth of July at Woodlawn Lake Park

The city of San Antonio’s Independence Day celebration is a free event that will include activities, food trucks, Lotería, vendors, live music and carnival games. The night will end with a fireworks show.

Salute at Sunset River Parades

The event will feature four river parades throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Each river barge will be decorated patriotically to celebrate the men and women in all branches of the U.S. armed forces. The parade can be viewed throughout the downtown section of the River Walk.Fourth of July Riverwalk Artisan Show

Local vendors will display and sell handmade items, including artisan creations such as pottery, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, paintings, beadwork and more near the Shops at Rivercenter.Stars & Stripes on Houston Street Parade


The event will feature vintage military and fire trucks, classic cars, marching bands, and performances by local and regional cultural and heritage groups. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.Stars & Stripes Salute at the Alamo

The inaugural event will feature living history tours of the Alamo Church, Long Barrack and Alamo Gardens all day long. Live music includes performances from U.S. Air Force Rock Band, Children's Chorus of San Antonio, Opera San Antonio and more. A closing ceremony will end with a drone show.
