The owner of a new Jamba Juice cafe in Stone Oak will formally celebrate the opening of his venture March 2, while a chef will open her Mexican restaurant in Stone Oak on March 6.

Jamba Juice franchisee Troy Trevino will host a grand opening for a Jamba Juice at the Stone Oak H-E-B Plus.

The new Jamba Juice location can be accessed from outside the grocery store building and indoors, and boasts an indoor dining space.

During grand opening weekend March 2 and 3, Trevino and his team will offer buy one, get one smoothie specials from noon to 4 p.m. each day, as well as giveaways and more.Maíz Cocina Mexicana


Maíz will open in the former La Catrina Mexican Bakery and Coffee House in Stone Oak.

According to a statement, owner and chef Maricela Rangel Trujillo said her menu will feature dishes based upon family recipes originating in Zacatecas in central Mexico.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items range from omelettes, enchiladas, tacos and chilaquiles to huevos poblanos, pozole and enfrijoladas. House specialty entrees will include Milanesa Maíz, involving breaded and fried milenesa covered with special corn, sauce-melted cheese and poblano pepper.

There will also be desserts, coffee drinks and other beverages.
